Hear the future at (FIRST TAKE), a workshop of new American operas-in-progress, presented by The Industry, LA's home for experimental opera.(FIRST TAKE) will give composers the opportunity to present to the public excerpts of operatic works, un-staged, as read by wild Up chamber ensemble, conducted by Marc Lowenstein and Christopher Rountree. Be the first to hear excerpts of six new works exploring new directions for music-theater, including new collaborations by the legendary Pauline Oliveros with the poet Ione, and rising-star composer Mohammed Fairouz with the poet and cultural critic Wayne Koestenbaum.
